Re-imagining the school day

Imagine a school where children are allowed to determine what it is they would like to learn and master.

Our mornings include academic workshops scheduled by a timetable where learning takes place along project-based lines. Pupils are also allocated time for self-directed learning, during which they pursue topics of personal interest through research projects of their own design. In addition, pupils can sign up for several other afternoon workshops scheduled to take place on one afternoon per week.

Our culture of respect sets the tone for our day. Adults in our learning environment act as learning guides who are committed to giving each student a relevant and personalized educational experience. Whether pupils work alone or in groups (sometimes with pupils of different ages) our teachers are there to frame their learning in a way that meaningfully challenges them.
